Christine Sublett is an information and cyber security, privacy and information protection professional with over 25 years in the healthcare technology industry. Expert in providing technical and strategic advisory and consultancy services to health tech organizations, Christine is adept at delivering comprehensive guidance on the implementation and development of security and information protection programs and initiatives, and works with Boards and Executive teams to define cost efficient and practical security and privacy strategy. Christine has executed security and data privacy due diligence on acquisitions for both equity firms and their portfolio companies, working with those companies through the acquisition process to mitigate identified risks.
In 2011 Christine established her own consultancy company, Sublett Consulting, in the San Francisco Bay Area. As President and Principal Consultant, Christine is responsible for providing advisory and consultant services to healthcare organizations to review their operating environment business policies and processes, assess risks, and develop security and privacy strategies for infrastructure, medical devices and digital health products. Her specialty is taking a bare bones or nonexistent security and privacy strategy and building one from the ground up to meet the strict standards of data protection of regulated data and intellectual property. She has held cybersecurity board advisory roles with health technology companies in a variety of areas including population management, patient experience, personal genetics, health data intelligence and analytics, cognitive behavioral therapy, and encryption technologies. Companies advised by Christine have been acquired by top tier companies including Apple, Salesforce, Intuit, Generali Group and Kareo. She also serves as a cybersecurity adviser to companies at multiple accelerators and incubators, and as a mentor to TECHquality at Catalyst @ Health 2.0.
Prior to Sublett Consulting, Christine served in a variety of senior executive Security, Privacy, Technology and Risk Management roles with healthcare entities including Stanford Children’s Hospital, StayWell Health Management and LifeMasters Supported SelfCare.
Selected in 2016 to participate on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Healthcare Industry Cybersecurity Task Force to provide recommendations to Congress on healthcare cybersecurity and privacy initiatives, Christine also participates on a number of Advisory Boards and Committees including the El Camino Hospital Board of Director’s Security, Privacy, Compliance and Audit Committee, is a steering committee member on the Diabetes Technology Society Mobile Platform Controlling a Diabetes Device Security & Safety Standard Committee, and advises multiple health technology startups. She is a member of InfraGard, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
Over the past 25 years, Christine has established herself as a leader in the information protection community. She holds a number of industry certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC); Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) and is a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She serves as Adjunct Professor to the Graduate Health Informatics Program at the University of San Francisco. Christine is a member of The CLUB, a San Francisco Bay Area organization dedicated to the support and growth of women as leaders, and is an ultra-distance bicycle racer.
